About five years ago I heard about something called “Distributed Computing” and at that time I was working in a IT department for a Mortgage/Banking company. I had to go and find out what it was all about. Here is a short definition: “The process of aggregating the power of several computers to collaboratively run a single computational task in a transparent and coherent way.” Interesting isn't it? As I was reading and researching more about this I came across this site called FightAIDS@home this is a distributed computing site to find new ways, advancements and more effective HIV/AIDS drug; and hopefully a cure for HIV/AIDS. If you go to the World Community Grid there you can sign up for an account and chose a project like FightAIDS@home and download the software which is called “BONIC”. I encourage everyone to go and sign up and help find a cure for HIV/AIDS. |
