This is me at physical therapy hooked up to the Anodyne System. I now have
a home unit that I use to ease the pain of my Neuropathy.
|
Though this picture wasn’t the best I thought I
would share it with you anyway.
The story behind this picture is when I went
full blown AIDS in 2003 I developed a never
disease that is called Peripheral Neuropathy.
I was taking a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors
(NRTIs) and one of the side effects
was Toxic Peripheral Neuropathy.
Peripheral neuropathy is caused by damage to
the body’s peripheral nerves In reading I have
found that over 20 million Americans have it.
This damage disrupts the body’s ability to
communicate with the muscles, joints, or
internal organs as well as many other
underlying causes.
I suffer with Neuropathy in my toes, feet,
ankles, thigh and my arms and fingers; it’s a
24/7 pain to deal with.
I’m currently using a home unit for what is
called Anodyne home therapy; with my home
Anodyne unit. Along with Anodyne therapy I
am on a few different very strong pain
medications.
Here is a video of me at the clinic where I
receive my treatments that explains a little bit
more about me and my neuropathy. |
